Welcome New 2023 AfB Board Members!
The Alliance for Bhikkhunis is excited to introduce three new additions to our Board of Directors.
Wren Withers and Dennis Crean are both past presidents of Saranaloka Foundation, supporting the Bhikkhuni community of Aloka Vihara in Northern California. Wren has been voted in as the new President of AfB, and Dennis will serve as board member at large.
Wren thanks the entire Board for its ongoing hard work and selfless service over many years, especially Donna McCarthy, the most recent past President.
Pooja Bhatia has joined the board as our Secretary, taking over from Marsha Morrow, who has been on the board since the inception with unwavering commitment. Pooja is a technologist by profession and brings her skills to the board in her current position. Throughout her career and now as a Buddhist, she has been a strong supporter of women.

The new Board members extend their heartfelt appreciation to Erika Barlett for her exceptional commitment and support over the last five years, serving diligently in roles such as president and secretary. Erika now serves as our treasurer, while Donna and Marsha continue as board members at large.
We also acknowledge Lekzom (Anisha Dhungana), whose composed presence has graced the Board for several years. As our Facebook guru, we express our sincere gratitude for her unwavering dedication to our cause, balancing her responsibilities as a novice in training.
As a Board, our collective aspiration is to widen our impact and reach, extending support to bhikkhunis worldwide. Your unwavering support stands as the cornerstone in manifesting this ambitious vision. Together, we aim to galvanize our efforts, channeling our shared commitment towards realizing this mission. Empowering more deserving bhikkhunis globally lies at the heart of our organization’s purpose, and your continued partnership is integral in bringing this vision to fruition.
