The 4th International Bhikkhuni Sangha Day was celebrated by All India Bhikkhuni Sangha at Kacchana Buddha Vihar, Nagpur, Maharashtra, India on 6th September 2014. Bhikkhuni Vishaka Theri presided at the function in the presence of 16 Bhikkhunis, 3 Anagarikas and Upasika-Upasak Sangha. Bhikkhuni Silachara Theri hosted the Panchasheel Flag, lighten the candle and offered flowers to Tathagat Buddha and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Bhante Suniti explained the Importance of the Day remembered all the Bhikkhuni Theris at the time of Buddha especially Bhikkhuni Kacchana (Yashodhara) as the day is dedicated to Her. Then on behalf of all the Bhikkhunis, Bhante Suniti honoured Bhikkhuni Vishakha Theri by giving her Bouquet of flowers as she is the first who dared to take robes before 45 years in Nagpur and faced many difficulties.
The All India Bhikkhuni Sangha also distributed the Participation Certificates to the Samneris and Bhikkhunis of Samneri/Bhikkhuni training held from 1st Nov. 2013 to 25th Nov. 2013. Bhikkhuni Silachara Theri gave Dhammadesana on the life of Theris at the time of Buddha. The function was concluded by Chivar Dan to Bhikkhuni Vishakha Theri and Sangha Dana to other Bhikkhunis by Upasikas.
